February 22, 2008
February 22, 2008. It’s a big day for the Zinkes! It is a bigger day for Rick. He’ll take the National Board Medical Exam, come Friday morning. The exam is 8 hours long and it is pass or fail. As you can see, our future rests on this exam. The exam covers all the information he’s learned since he started medical school in the Fall of 2006. (No pressure, Rick!) I am not too worried about it though, he’s brilliant. He has been studying 10-12 hours a day, six days a week for the past three weeks. I am pleased with his diligence, focus and dedication in his pursuit of a medical degree. He has worked so hard and I believe in him, with all my heart. Even though he has been so busy with school, he leaves his books at the door when he comes home. He has been so mindful of me during a very stressful time in his educational pursuit. I thank him for that. It means the world to me!
I ask of you, my beloved family and friends, to keep Rick in your thoughts and prayers for the next couple of days. We he needs all the extra help he can get! Thank you so much for your love and support. It means a lot to us.

GOOD LUCK RICK!!! If you’re as brilliant as Vanessa says, you’ll ace it!! But I’ll send the angels anyway!!
I’ve been praying for you all week. I’m sending angels, too.
If anyone can, RICK can.
XXOO
Yikes!!!! I will be so glad when this is over (not as glad as Rick and Justin will be though)! He is going to do great! They have been studying way to hard for it to turn out any other way!
Best of luck, Rick! Not that you’ll need it… smarty pants.
Thanks for all the support from each of you. The test is over…finally. It’s nice to be home on a Saturday without anything to study. I don’t know whether Vanessa or I appreciate it more! One week off of school, then it’s back to the grindstone.
