The view from hotel room #916 of the Hilton.

I am convinced it’s the best room in the city. The view is incredible!

Friday night, we dined at Cafe Buade.

Turkey on white bread, with gravy and canned peas. Classy eh?

I ordered an opened face sandwich filled with grilled vegetables, pesto, and topped with melted cheesed.

It was so so delicious.

Our night wasn’t complete without a beautifully sliced chocolate cake that was loaded with cheesecake chunks and all things delicious!  They are meticulous with details in Quebec City!

I’m glad you liked the “croque-monsieur,” it’s an acquired taste for some ;)

Oh how I adore Quebec City – we went in February and it was SO cold, but we fell in love! We snow-shoed and skied (while we left our sweet 9 month old Owen with some lovely French-Canadian grandma’s at the resort “childcare,” walked the streets, visiting small book stores, a delicious crepes eatery, stood in awe of some incredible ice sculptures, and just took it all in – easily our very favorite side trip we did while in Vermont. We always wanted to go back in warmer weather, but it just didn’t happen. Enjoy!

OH my gosh, that is awesome!! I’ve been dying to go there! Great pictures….makes me wanna go even more now.

Melissa: although the air was very windy and a bit chilly, we thought it was the best time to be there. We too, ate at crepes, and went in and out of dozens of little stores. We brought our rollerblades, but never used them. We felt like we were on another continent. I had no idea you, too, visited. Very cool! Thanks for sharing your experience!

    Hi Vanessa!

Thanks for your comment on my blog today. I totally love the Halloween gingerbread house. And I’ve been perusing your blog…great job! I think we are kindred spirits. My husband and I went to Quebec in July and just loved it. I so love your pictures.

    Thanks again!

We stayed in this exact same Hilton. I loved Quebec City and can’t believe that more people don’t go here for a vacation. It felt so much like Europe to me…but it was cheaper and faster to get there, especially since we are coming from the west coast. Our room overlooked the castle wall and Chateau Frontenac. Loved, loved, loved this vacation. Your pictures are wonderful. I need to post the rest of mine.

Also, I meant to leave that previous comment on the post before this one instead of leaving two separate comments on one post. I’m just so excited that I wasn’t even paying attention, I guess!
